INTERCLUB COOPERATION GETS THE KITS DONE

Birthing Kits group shot Dec 7.jpg

The Rotary Club of Aurora Gungahlin co-ordinated a joint fun morning of fellowship and teamwork together with Rotary Clubs of Ginninderra and Gungahlin and members of the Probus Club of Kaleen this month and assembled 400 Birthing Kits for charity.

This is the fourth successful combined event that the Rotary Club of Aurora Gungahlin has hosted recently, partnering with the Probus Club of Kaleen.

These Birthing kits are assembled under stringent hygiene conditions to provide mothers and their newborns living in remote regions of the developing world with the best health outcomes during and after birth.

The contents comprise a plastic birthing mat, a pair of rubber gloves, soap, a scalpel, string and gauze. The kits are distributed to the expectant mother by various charitable organisations worldwide through Birthing Kits Foundation Australia.

Interclub projects such as this encourage teamwork and cooperation. They are an excellent platform for our clubs to execute financially more significant projects and community events and develop firm friendships and fellowship.

Please see the website www.bkfa.org.au for further information.
